The Hello Kitty MP3 player

It's probably time we all faced the cold, hard reality of our situation: sooner or later there will be a Hello Kitty version of every gadget (and we're actually fairly sure this has been out for a while now).
P.S. Now that it's officially ok to own an MP3 player without a screen, you can also feel less creepy about buying one of these if you don't happen to be a 9-year-old Japanese girl.

It's *only* ok to own a screenless MP3 player if it has software that lets it autofill randomly from your library.

I'd get this for my five-year-old if it had a speaker and a volume limiter. Headphones are trouble for kids, espeically since they are only allowed to put their elbows in their ears.

It would be quite the design challenge to actually produce an mp3 player with less features than the shuffle, wouldn't it. Somebody should make an xprize for that. $100 million.
Chris @ Dec 19th 2005 12:09AM
i'll take you up on that offer actually Joey..
Features:
1. Play button!
nothing else. we can keep the slogan "life is random", as you never know when the battery will go flat.

This would be perfect for my little cousin. I'm not even going to try and bash this. It's a good music player for kids.

Aaaaah yeah, it's on! Hello Kitty! I sure hope they have the option to get one of those super cool ropes that will allow me to hang it around my neck, Flava Flav style! Boi!
flory @ Dec 19th 2005 12:09AM

jbelkin @ Dec 19th 2005 12:09AM
double duty - you plug your ipod shuffle inside and you have the best of Apple & sanrio!
jack @ Dec 19th 2005 12:09AM
This thing is from 2001.
Why is everyone talking about it like spontaneously appeared from no where after the shuffle was introduced.
If anything, Apple copied the "Hellow" Kitty mp3 player!!!
David @ Dec 19th 2005 12:09AM
Apple generally copies everybody (or steals) ... that's not new ;-) They are just marketing geniuses ... (anybody have an extra shuffle laying around?)
